Role Summary
As a
Senior Oracle Database & Application Administrator
, you will act as a
Subject Matter Expert (SME)
responsible for the
design, administration, performance, security, and availability
of Oracle databases and enterprise applications, primarily
Oracle E‑Business Suite (EBS R12.2) on Oracle Database 19c
, running on
Linux/Unix platforms
.
Key Responsibilities
-
Provide end‑to‑end administration, support, and enhancement of Oracle E‑Business Suite (R12.2) and associated Oracle Database 19c environments (production and non‑production).
-
Install, configure, patch, upgrade, tune, and maintain Oracle databases and Oracle E‑Business Suite application tiers.
-
Administer Oracle EBS security, workflows, auditing, concurrent managers, and application configurations.
-
Perform and manage database backup, restore, cloning, refresh, and disaster recovery activities in coordination with the infrastructure team.
-
Maintain high availability and data integrity through proper architecture design, monitoring, and operational controls.
-
Support refresh of non‑production environments from production as required.
-
Monitor database activity, application performance, and system resource usage to ensure optimal operation.
-
Analyze and resolve performance issues across the database tier, application tier, and concurrent processing within Oracle E‑Business Suite.
-
Conduct periodic database tuning, capacity planning, and forecasting of future resource needs.
-
Provide proactive performance reporting and recommendations to development and business teams.
-
Administer Linux / Unix operating systems, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and security hardening.
-
Maintain strong working knowledge of Red Hat Linux in support of Oracle Database and Application Server products.
-
Ensure database and application security through policy definition, implementation of controls, and regular audits.
-
Contribute to ITGC, IT audit, and compliance activities, ensuring adherence to internal standards and best practices.
-
Define and enforce standards for database object security, integrity, and access control.
-
Collaborate with infrastructure, development, and business teams to provide technical guidance and best practices.
-
Troubleshoot and resolve database and application issues within agreed SLAs and OLAs internal an external.
-
Participate in on‑call and out‑of‑hours support on a planned or emergency basis.
-
Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and operational procedures.
Technical Skills

Oracle Database 19c (Core DBA administration, tuning, troubleshooting)

Oracle E‑Business Suite R12.2 (Apps DBA, security, workflows, concurrent manager)

Oracle RAC, Data Guard, Oracle Enterprise Manager

Oracle Single Sign‑On (SSO), WebLogic Administration

OBIEE WebLogic Administration, Oracle WCI Administration
-
Linux / Unix administration (Red Hat Linux)
-
SQL and PL/SQL development (monitoring, alerts, reporting, auditing)
-
Shell scripting and automation of day‑to‑day DBA tasks
-
Experience deploying Oracle Forms and Reports
-
Exposure to Apache and Tomcat (advantageous)
Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
-
Minimum 5 years of experience as an Oracle Database / Applications DBA.
-
Proven experience supporting ERP environments, specifically Oracle E‑Business Suite R12.
-
Proven experience in database design, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and high availability.
-
Solid understanding of ITGC and IT audit processes.
-
Excellent English communication and documentation skills.
