OC Pets Veterinary Clinic LLC is seeking a highly experienced Senior Orthopedic Veterinary Doctor to lead and expand our orthopedic services. The ideal candidate will have advanced training and substantial clinical experience in orthopedic surgery, fracture management, joint procedures, and musculoskeletal diagnostics, in addition to strong skills in radiography, ultrasound, and general soft tissue surgery.

Position Overview

The Senior Orthopedic Veterinarian will manage a wide range of orthopedic cases, perform advanced surgical procedures, and oversee pre- and post-operative care. The role also includes performing diagnostic imaging, supporting complex internal medicine cases when relevant, and contributing to the development of clinical standards and protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced orthopedic surgeries, including:
  • Fracture repair (plates, pins, external fixation)
  • Cruciate ligament surgeries (TPLO, TTA, extracapsular techniques)
  • Patellar luxation correction
  • Joint surgeries and arthrotomies
  • Limb deformity corrections
  • Conduct detailed pre-operative evaluations and postoperative management plans.
  • Perform and interpret digital X-rays, including orthopedic, thoracic, and abdominal radiographs.
  • Perform and interpret ultrasound examinations when needed for case assessment.
  • Carry out soft tissue procedures, such as castrations, spaying, C sections, wound management, mass removals, and supportive surgeries.
  • Diagnose and manage internal medicine cases.
  • Provide clear and professional communication with clients regarding diagnoses, surgical plans, risks, and aftercare.
  • Collaborate with veterinary nurses and junior veterinarians to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Contribute to case discussions, staff training, and continuous improvement of standards.

Required Qualifications

  • DVM/VMD degree (or equivalent), eligible for veterinary licensure in the UAE.
  • Significant clinical experience (minimum 7 years) with a strong orthopedic focus.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in orthopedic surgical techniques and fracture management.
  • Strong skills in X-ray performing and interpretation.
  • Competency in ultrasound diagnostics.
  • Experience in relevant soft tissue surgeries.
  • Excellent diagnostic reasoning, communication, and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to manage complex cases independently while working within a collaborative team.

Preferred Additional Experience

  • Advanced orthopedic training, certifications, or residency experience.
  • Experience with minimally invasive orthopedic procedures or arthroscopy (if available).
  • Familiarity with emergency orthopedic case management.
  • Prior experience mentoring veterinarians or leading surgical teams.
  • Commitment to continued professional growth and education.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED20,000.00 - AED30,000.00 per month
