Senior Performance Engineer

Job purpose: Sage Intacct is seeking a **Senior Performance Engineer** to join our high-performing team. This is an **individual contributor** role focused on ensuring our cloud-based financial management software delivers exceptional performance and scalability. You will collaborate cross-functionally with development, QA, and product management to drive performance improvements across the platform.

*** This is a hybrid position - working 3 days a week from our Bangalore office. ***

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

Design, develop, and execute performance test plans and scripts using LoadRunner and JMeter to evaluate application scalability and responsiveness

Analyse and troubleshoot performance issues, identify bottlenecks, and provide actionable recommendations for optimization

Profile application and system performance using APM tools such as New Relic and Dynatrace to proactively detect and resolve issues

Collaborate with development, QA, and product management teams to integrate performance engineering best practices throughout the software lifecycle

Develop and maintain performance testing frameworks and contribute to the continuous improvement of performance engineering methodologies

Generate comprehensive performance analysis reports and present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Contribute to the automation of manual tasks through Unix shell scripting and other scripting languages as needed

Support infrastructure performance initiatives involving PHP and Kubernetes (K8s), providing guidance on performance implications and optimizations.

Technical / professional qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in performance engineering or a similar role.

Expertise in LoadRunner scripting, test execution, analysis, and framework development.

Hands-on experience with JMeter for performance and load testing.

Proven ability to work cross-functionally with development, QA, and product management teams.

Proficiency with APM tools such as New Relic, Dynatrace, or AppDynamics for profiling and monitoring application performance.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis and performance tuning.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Skills, know-how and experience:
· Core expertise in Load runner/ Jmeter scripts/ performance test scenarios (expertise and must) · Expertise and experience in designing, creating, troubleshooting and maintaining complex Load runner/ Jmeter scripts (expertise)

Excellent in Load runner/ Jmeter scripts, performance test scenarios and analysis, providing hotspot issues

Experience in working in complex framework driven performance development

Good to have performance centre/load runner enterprise working experience

Excellent individual contributor as well as team player in completing the assigned tasks.

Excellent in solution provider for performance specific tasks
