Job Title: Senior Pipeline Design Engineer

Job Purpose

The Senior Pipeline Design Engineer will be responsible for leading pipeline design activities for oil & gas projects during FEED and Detailed Engineering phases. The role involves technical leadership, preparation and review of design deliverables, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, cost-effective, and standards-compliant pipeline systems.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Design

Lead pipeline design activities for onshore/offshore oil & gas projects.
Perform pipeline routing studies and constructability assessments.
Prepare and review:
- Wall thickness calculations
- Hydraulic calculations
- Stress analysis reports
- Pipeline alignment sheets
- Material selection and specifications
- Material Requisitions (MR) & Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE)
Develop pipeline layouts, crossing details, and tie-in documentation.
Ensure compliance with international standards (ASME, API, DNV, ISO) and client specifications.

FEED & Detailed Engineering

Execute pipeline design during FEED stage including cost estimation and optimization.
Support detailed engineering activities up to IFC (Issued for Construction) stage.
Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, design reviews, and model reviews.
Interface with Civil, Mechanical, Process, and Instrumentation disciplines.

Technical Leadership

Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
Review and approve design deliverables.
Coordinate with construction and commissioning teams for technical clarifications.
Support proposal engineering activities and manhour estimation.

Pipeline Design Basis
Stress Analysis Reports (CAESAR II)
Hydraulic Study Reports
Alignment Sheets
Isometrics
MTO (Material Take-Off)
Design Calculations & Technical Reports

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 12+ years of experience in oil & gas pipeline design.
Strong experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering projects.
Experience in EPC environment preferred.
Middle East project experience (ADNOC / QatarEnergy / Aramco projects) is an advantage.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in:
- CAESAR II (Pipeline Stress Analysis)
- AutoCAD / MicroStation
- PDMS / E3D
Knowledge of:
- ASME B31.4 / B31.8
- API Standards
- DNV codes
- Client specifications
