Senior Piping Supervisor

The Senior Piping Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating all piping construction activities at the project site. The role ensures that piping installation, fabrication, testing, and commissioning activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and schedule requirements.

Key Responsibilities -Construction Supervision

• Supervise piping installation, fabrication, erection, and testing activities.
• Ensure work is performed according to approved drawings, specifications, procedures, and codes.
• Coordinate daily activities of piping foremen, supervisors, subcontractors, and craft personnel.
• Monitor work progress and productivity against project schedules.

Safety Management

• Enforce company HSE policies and site safety requirements.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Identify and mitigate construction hazards.
• Ensure compliance with permit-to-work systems and risk assessments.

Quality Assurance

• Verify piping installations comply with project specifications and applicable standards.
• Coordinate inspections with QA/QC personnel.
• Ensure proper implementation of welding, NDT, hydrotesting, flushing, and reinstatement activities.
• Review and close punch-list items.

Planning & Coordination

• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, QA/QC, HSE, and commissioning teams.
• Review construction drawings, isometrics, and work packages.
• Participate in construction planning meetings.
• Ensure timely availability of materials, equipment, and manpower.

Resource Management

• Allocate manpower and equipment efficiently.
• Monitor subcontractor performance.
• Control labor productivity and report progress.
• Support workforce development and mentoring.

Reporting

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Track construction milestones and identify schedule risks.
• Report issues affecting safety, quality, cost, or schedule.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Additional certifications in construction supervision or project management are advantageous.

Experience

• 10–15+ years of piping construction experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or senior supervisory role.
• Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, LNG, power, or industrial projects.
• Proven experience managing subcontractors and large construction crews.

Technical Knowledge

• Piping fabrication and installation.
• ASME, ANSI, API, ASTM, and relevant international standards.
• Welding procedures and NDT requirements.
• Hydrotesting, pneumatic testing, flushing, and commissioning support.
• Isometric drawings, P&IDs, and piping layouts.
• Construction scheduling and progress monitoring.
