Job Description:

Parsons is seeking an exceptionally talented Senior Planner to join our dynamic team! In this role, you will leverage your expertise to tackle complex planning assignments, including conflicting requirements and challenging coordination efforts. You will play a key role in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to support impactful planning initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing

• Perform planning assignments requiring conventional expertise, often involving complexities such as conflicting requirements or challenging coordination efforts.

• Gather, compile, and analyze data related to economic, social, and physical factors.

• Develop recommendations based on governmental measures affecting land use, public utilities, community facilities, housing, and transportation.

• Prepare, coordinate, and facilitate public involvement meetings and consensus-building workshops.

• Provide oversight and technical guidance to technicians and junior planners.

Skills and Competencies

• Comprehensive knowledge of urban and environmental planning practices and procedures.

• Proficiency in using PC software and tools commonly applied in planning assignments.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong understanding of local statutes, environmental regulations, and rules.

Education and Experience

• Required: Bachelor's degree in Urban/Environmental Planning or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.

Licenses and Certifications

• Certification from the Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is preferred, or other related certifications.

Key Relationships

• Supervision Received: Manager, Project Manager, Senior Planners.

• Supervision Given: Technicians and junior planners (technical guidance only).

• Internal Contacts: All project employees.

• External Contacts: Local government officials and the general public.
