You will be responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive project schedules, coordinating between teams, and ensuring timely delivery of project phases.
This role involves ensuring that all project milestones are met on time, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience in construction planning, with a proven track record in large-scale infrastructure or airport projects.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Develop and maintain the detailed project schedule, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met throughout the project lifecycle.
- Establish and manage the planning process, from the conceptual phase through to project handover, ensuring all aspects of the project are accounted for in the schedule.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop accurate forecasts and timelines for project activities.
- Track and monitor the progress of the project against the baseline schedule, identifying any deviations or potential delays.
- Prepare regular progress reports, highlighting any critical issues, delays, or risks that may affect the project timeline.
- Coordinate with the site teams to gather data on actual progress and update the schedule accordingly.
- Identify potential scheduling risks and develop mitigation strategies to avoid delays and project disruptions.
- Assess the impact of any changes, delays, or issues on the project schedule and communicate these impacts to senior management.
- Work closely with the Risk Lead to incorporate risk mitigation strategies into the project schedule.
- Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure they are aligned with the project schedule and timelines.
- Ensure that all required resources (labor, equipment, materials) are available as needed, and resolve any resource-related scheduling conflicts.
- Lead the integration of planning efforts between different project disciplines, including construction, commissioning, and operational readiness.
- Utilize planning and scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) to evaluate project performance and productivity.
- Conduct “what-if” analysis and scenario planning to assess the impact of schedule changes and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure that project data is accurately captured and incorporated into the project management system for analysis and decision-making.
- Maintain open lines of communication with senior management, contractors, and other stakeholders to keep them informed of progress and any schedule-related issues.
- Prepare and present regular updates, including critical path analysis and schedule forecasting, to senior leadership.
- Document all planning processes and decisions, ensuring that historical data is properly archived for future reference.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in project planning, with a focus on large-scale infrastructure or construction projects.
- Experience with airfield, airport, or other transportation-related projects is highly desirable.
- Expert knowledge of project scheduling tools, particularly Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, critical path analysis, and resource leveling techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to manage multiple schedules and competing priorities under pressure.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to interact with senior management, project teams, and contractors.
- Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or planning-related certifications (e.g., AACE International).
- Familiarity with integrated project management platforms such as Procore, Aconex, or BIM 360.
- Knowledge of aviation infrastructure standards, regulations, and project delivery methodologies.
- Understanding of 4D BIM and its application in project scheduling and planning.
