Senior Planning Engineer - Civil

1. Job Summary

The Senior Planning Engineer is responsible for the development, maintenance, and monitoring of the Master Time Schedule across all assigned construction projects. This role is accountable for driving schedule integrity from baseline through execution – encompassing resource–loaded programme development, progress reporting, delay analysis, Extension of Time (EOT) claims, and recovery schedule formulation. The incumbent serves as the primary planning interface with Consultants, Clients, and Subcontractors, leading weekly progress meetings, preparing formal correspondence, and ensuring all stakeholders receive accurate and timely project status information. The role also carries a supervisory mandate, with responsibility for reviewing the work of and developing Planning Engineers assigned to the project.

2. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare comprehensive weekly and monthly progress reports, consolidating site data into structured outputs for internal management, Consultant, and Client review.
  • Attend weekly internal coordination meetings and verifies the accuracy of planning–related content within the meeting minutes prepared by the Document Controllers.
  • Attend and lead weekly progress meetings with Consultants and Clients, preparing and presenting the current weekly progress status, highlighting schedule variances, and facilitating informed discussion on project performance.
  • Review weekly site reports in collaboration with the site team – conducted in the presence of the Construction Manager and Project Engineers – ensuring all progress data is accurate, complete, and forms the reliable basis for all client and consultant presentations.
  • Prepare draft delay and progress–related formal correspondence for issue to Subcontractors and Consultants, ensuring letters are factually accurate, professionally worded, and properly substantiated by schedule data.
  • Develop and maintain the baseline programme with full resource loading, establishing the project's contractual schedule benchmark and ensuring all activities, durations, and resource assignments are accurately reflected.
  • Formulate recovery, mitigation, and acceleration schedules in response to identified delays or performance shortfalls, working closely with the site team and management to define realistic and achievable revised programmes.
  • Monitor and track overall project progress on an ongoing basis, producing regular analytical reports that identify variances against baseline, diagnose root causes, and recommend corrective actions to improve the progress rate at site.
  • Monitor and track the progress of subcontractors and suppliers, reviewing their submitted programmes and progress reports to ensure alignment with the master schedule and raising concerns promptly where slippage is identified.
  • Prepare Extension of Time (EOT) claims in the event of construction delays, compiling comprehensive supporting documentation, delay analysis, and entitlement arguments in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Review and quality–assure all reports, schedules, and planning outputs prepared by the Planning Engineers assigned to the project, providing structured feedback and ensuring outputs meet the required standard before submission.
  • Supervise, guide, and actively develop the Planning Engineers under the project, building their technical capability in scheduling tools, reporting standards, and project controls methodology in alignment with Naresco's planning practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED12,000.00 - AED18,000.00 per month

Experience:

  • Senior Planning Engineer in UAE: 7 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • PMP (Preferred)
