Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Planning Engineer to lead and manage all planning, scheduling, and progress control functions for a prestigious residential project in the UAE. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in the UAE, with at least 5 years in a consultancy environment, demonstrating strong technical and project management expertise in the construction of large-scale residential developments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain project schedules using industry-standard planning software (Primavera P6 preferred).
- Prepare baseline programs, recovery schedules, and revisions in coordination with project stakeholders.
- Monitor and control project progress against approved schedules and budgets; identify and report potential delays and risks.
- Liaise with project managers, design teams, and contractors to ensure alignment between design deliverables and construction schedules.
- Evaluate contractors’ programs, extension of time (EOT) claims, and progress reports for accuracy and compliance with contractual requirements.
- Prepare periodic progress reports, dashboards, and forecasting analyses for client and management review.
- Participate in project meetings to provide planning and scheduling support, advice, and recommendations.
- Develop resource loading and cash flow projections, ensuring optimal allocation of manpower, materials, and equipment.
- Support the project controls team in cost monitoring and performance measurement (Earned Value Management).
- Ensure compliance with the consultancy’s project control procedures and standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 12 years of professional experience in the UAE, with strong exposure to large-scale residential projects.
- At least 5 years of experience working with a consultancy firm in a planning or project control capacity.
- Proven expertise in Primavera P6, MS Project, and related project management software.
- Solid understanding of FIDIC and UAE construction contract procedures.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Membership in a professional engineering or project management body (e.g., PMI, AACE, CIOB) is an advantage.
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency in project reporting, delay analysis, and claim evaluation.
- Experience in high-rise or mixed-use residential developments is desirable.
- Strong command of English (spoken and written); Arabic proficiency is an added advantage.
