Overview

Details: This position will work full-time, day shift at University Hospital.


5-7 years of relevant experience and Power engineering certification or license is required.


Operates, repairs, meters, documents, and performs preventive maintenance needs of the complex mission critical systems of the powerhouse within the facility. Including but not limited to pumps, mechanical equipment, steam boilers, generators, pumps, steam turbines, distillers, water softeners, chillers, cooling towers and other auxiliary equipment to provide utility services. Works under highly stressful scenarios as it relates to the mission critical operation and safety of the plant. Coordinates or leads project plans when necessary. Trains colleagues on various skills and tasks. Acts as a resource or mentor to colleagues and provides general leadership to the team. Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • High School Diploma/GED is required. Associate's Degree is preferred.
  • Requires 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Power engineering certification or license is required.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of plumbing, pipefitting, fluid systems, electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Requires current knowledge of various federal; state; local; OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and Joint Commission codes and regulations.
  • Requires the ability to read and interpret information from blueprints, schematics and diagrams.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of the operating conditions and safety of the complex critical distribution systems of steam, chilled water, condensate, cooling towers, air systems (medical gas, medical and house air), water softening systems, fuel systems and water chemistry as it relates to cooling towers and other equipment.
