Process & Operations Engineer – Ajman, UAE

Sewage Treatment Plant

12-15k depending on experience + Family Status, including visa, medical insurance, and annual air tickets, bonus

For a leading water treatment company based in Ajman.

In this role you will be responsible for design review, process optimization, and daily operational management of wastewater treatment systems. The role ensures that all treatment processes operate efficiently, comply with environmental regulations, and meet internal performance and reliability targets.

Qualifications/Experience

Pref a degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Process Engineering

7-10 years of relevant experience in process engineering, preferably wastewater treatment

Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and plant operations, including hands-on experience with BNR, MBBR, UASB, sludge management, centrifuges, and mesophilic/thermophilic digesters

Knowledge of biogas handling, treatment, and power generation systems

Proficiency with SCADA systems, instrumentation, plant automation, and operational data analysis.

Ability to interpret P&IDs, process flow diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical documentation

Strong understanding of environmental regulations, industry standards, and HSE compliance requirements

Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage operational challenges effectively

Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Strong planning, organizational, and time-management abilities with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities will include:

• Conduct design reviews for chemical, biological, and physical wastewater treatment processes
• Monitor plant performance using laboratory data, SCADA systems, and operator logs to identify trends and deviations
• Optimize process parameters to improve system performance, energy efficiency, and operational reliability
• Prepare technical reports, process documentation, and regulatory submissions as required
• Lead troubleshooting activities for operational issues and recommend effective corrective and preventive measures
• Develop OPEX budgets and support cost optimization initiatives
• Provide technical support during commissioning, performance testing, and evaluation of new equipment or process upgrades
• Ensure operations comply with environmental standards, safety procedures, and regulatory guidelines
• Support training and knowledge transfer for plant operators and technicians
• Coordinate with maintenance, electrical, and instrumentation teams for smooth plant operations
