Senior Procurement Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Senior Manager Procurement to lead and strengthen the organization's end-to-end procurement function. The role will be responsible for procurement planning, international sourcing, vendor management, inventory control, logistics coordination, and procurement governance.


A key focus of this position is managing international procurement activities, including global sourcing, OEM and manufacturer relationships, import operations, Letters of Credit (LCs), customs coordination, freight management, and supplier negotiations across international markets. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring material availability, optimizing procurement costs, mitigating supply chain risks, and supporting business growth through strategic procurement initiatives.


Job Description:

The Senior Manager Procurement will oversee the complete procurement lifecycle, from demand planning and sourcing through procurement execution, inventory management, logistics, and supplier performance management. The role requires close collaboration with project teams, finance, sales, and technical stakeholders to ensure efficient procurement operations and timely delivery of materials and services.


The incumbent will establish robust procurement processes, drive cost optimization initiatives, strengthen supplier partnerships, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and international trade requirements.


Education / Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Procurement Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline will be preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CIPS, CSCP, APICS, CPSM, or equivalent will be an added advantage.


Required Skills:

Procurement & Strategic Sourcing

  • Strong expertise in procurement planning, strategic sourcing, supplier selection, and contract negotiations
  • Proven ability to manage high-value procurement activities and complex commercial negotiations
  • Strong understanding of procurement best practices and supplier performance management.

International Procurement & Global Sourcing

  • Extensive experience managing international procurement and global sourcing activities
  • Strong knowledge of import/export procedures, international trade practices, and supplier management.
  • Experience working directly with OEMs, manufacturers, distributors, and international suppliers.
  • Hands-on experience negotiating international commercial agreements, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Strong understanding of Incoterms, international shipping practices, customs procedures, and trade compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing Letters of Credit (LCs), bank guarantees, shipping documentation, and other international trade instruments.

Inventory & Warehouse Management.

  • Strong understanding of inventory control methodologies including ABC analysis, cycle counting, reorder levels, and stock optimization
  • Experience managing warehouse and store operations with focus on inventory accuracy and material traceability.

Logistics & Supply Chain Management

  • Experience managing freight forwarding, customs clearance, transportation planning, and shipment tracking.
  • Ability to optimize logistics operations and reduce supply chain costs while maintaining service levels.

Systems & Analytical Skills

  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms
  • Strong analytical, forecasting, reporting, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement reporting tools

Stakeholder Managment

  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple functions and manage competing priorities


Experience:

  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain management, sourcing, or related functions.
  • Mandatory experience in international procurement, global sourcing, and supplier management
  • Proven track record of managing procurement from international OEMs, manufacturers, and distributors.
  • Hands-on experience with LC processing, bank coordination, import documentation, customs clearance, freight forwarding, and international trade transactions
  • Experience managing procurement, inventory, warehousing, and logistics operations in a project-based environment.
  • Experience leading procurement teams and driving process improvements through systems and automation.
  • Experience within technology, engineering, infrastructure, telecommunications, industrial, or project-driven organizations will be preferred.


Key Responsibilities

Procurement Planning & Demand Management

  • Lead procurement planning activities to ensure timely availability of materials and services.
  • Develop demand forecasting and supply planning models aligned with project and business requirements
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to forecast short-term and long-term procurement.

International Procurement & Strategic Sourcing

  • Lead global sourcing initiatives and develop relationships with international OEMs, manufacturers, and suppliers.
  • Manage end-to-end international procurement activities including supplier identification, evaluation, negotiation, contracting, and order execution.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, Incoterms, delivery schedules, warranties, and commercial agreements.
  • Manage foreign procurement transactions while ensuring compliance with international trade requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for supplier diversification and procurement risk mitigation.

Vendor Management

  • Establish supplier evaluation and performance management frameworks.
  • Conduct supplier assessments based on quality, delivery, commercial performance, compliance, and risk.
  • Build long-term strategic relationships with key suppliers and partners.

Inventory & Store Operations

  • Oversee warehouse and store operations, ensuring accurate material receipts, issuances, and inventory records.
  • Implement inventory optimization practices to maintain appropriate stock levels and minimize excess inventory
  • Ensure real-time inventory visibility through ERP systems and reporting mechanisms.

Logistics & Import Operations

  • Manage inbound and outbound logistics activities to ensure timely and cost-effective material movement.
  • Oversee customs clearance, freight forwarding, shipment tracking, and transportation coordination.
  • Manage import documentation and coordinate with banks, customs agents, freight partners, and regulatory authorities.
  • Continuously optimize logistics costs and service performance.

Compliance, Governance & Process Improvement

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with organizational policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain audit-ready procurement documentation, contracts, and records.
  • Drive ERP utilization, procurement automation, and process standardization initiatives
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across procurement and supply chain operations
