Senior Procurement Officer – Healthcare Sector

About the Role:

Nauru Medical Centre is seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Procurement Officer to support and assist the Procurement Manager in overseeing all purchasing and supply chain processes for our healthcare operations. The ideal candidate will ensure cost-effective and timely procurement of medical equipment, consumables, pharmaceuticals, and hospital supplies, while maintaining compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement procurement strategies to support hospital operations and cost efficiency.
• Source, evaluate, and manage suppliers for medical equipment, consumables, and services.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms with vendors.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate with internal departments for timely replenishment of critical supplies.
• Maintain accurate and organized procurement records, supplier evaluations, and contract files.
• Ensure compliance with organizational procurement policies and healthcare regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with finance, logistics, and clinical teams to streamline procurement and delivery workflows.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of procurement or supply chain experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of medical equipment, consumables sourcing, and vendor management.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in procurement systems and MS Office applications.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural work environment.
