Senior Product Designer

Compensation: $135,000-$165,000 per year
Location: Omaha, NE – Hybrid or United States - Remote

The job:
As a Senior Product Designer at Buildertrend, you’ll shape how builders and homeowners experience our platform by creating intuitive solutions that simplify construction management. Your work will simplify complex construction workflows and give customers clarity and control over their projects. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, leading complex and sometimes ambiguous problem spaces from discovery through delivery. You will lead design efforts that connect business goals with real user needs, transforming complex workflows into experiences that feel effortless. As a Senior Product Designer at Buildertrend, you are ready to take on big challenges and grow into greater influence, as an individual contributor or by stepping into design leadership.

What you will do:

• Own end-to-end design for a product area, from discovery and problem framing through delivery and iteration.

• Lead design in ambiguous spaces, helping teams define the right problems and practical solutions.

• Conduct user research and translate insights into actionable product direction.

• Partner with product managers and engineers to shape strategy and scope for high-quality experiences.

• Create and refine designs that balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.

• Facilitate collaboration and alignment on design direction within your scope of influence, working closely with team members and stakeholders.

• Continuously improve released experiences using qualitative feedback and performance data.

• Help raise the quality bar for design at Buildertrend through thoughtful critique, mentorship, and strong design judgment.

Who you are and what you need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Product Design, Industrial Design or a related field, or equivalent professional experience required.

• 6+ years of experience in digital product design, demonstrated through a strong portfolio of relevant work.

• Proven ability to own complex problems with minimal direction and deliver high-impact outcomes.

• Experience designing SaaS products with complex workflows. Experience with financial or payments features is a plus!

• Strong product thinking, connecting design decisions to customer outcomes and business results.

• Hands-on experience with user research and translating insights into clear, actionable design decisions.

• Experience working in product-driven, cross-functional, agile teams, with a proven track record of rapid delivery and high impact.

• Proficiency with modern design tools, including Figma and Lovable.
