GEI is expanding and we are seeking a Senior Project Manager and Business Development Professional in our Carlsbad, CA location. Potential specialties should include Environmental Remediation and Water Treatment. The candidate should have a working understanding of assessment and remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater and treatment of potable/industrial supply water and waste water. The ideal candidate will be interested in becoming a leader in the company with the desire to market our services and expand the office operations. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established environmental remediation and water treatment oriented career, with client contacts and relationships, especially among clients across California, particularly in Southern California.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties-
Acts as primary point of contact with clients and has full responsibility for project delivery.

Owns the client relationship for managed projects.

Plans, directs, and supervises operations included in a large, complex project or several moderately sized projects.

May be responsible for Project teams that include 10 or more members often representing multiple business lines.

Provide strong project management and project leadership in the areas of assessment and remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater

Provide strong project management and project leadership in the areas of water treatment system construction.

Supervises and trains all staff necessary to complete assignments.

Provides input in staff performance evaluations; mentors and coaches junior staff.

Leadership and/or participation in business development activities

Prepares proposals to provide professional services.

Represents GEI in communications and conferences pertaining to broad aspects of environmental remediation and water treatment.

Travel to project sites required, including overnight travel.

Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications-
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Remediation and/or Water Treatment related field, including Environmental Science, Geology, and Civil/Environmental Engineering.

20+ years of experience in the evaluation, planning, design and construction, and implementation of assessment of environmental contamination and water treatment, including project analysis, feasibility and budgeting

Experience in the management and delivery of highly complex projects and programs

Experience in client service and business development

Experience in operations and staff management
-
Strong progression within project delivery for public and/or private sector clients

Must possess a valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications-
Master’s degree
- 25+ years of progressive experience within the field preferred

Demonstrated business development acumen and experience

Leadership experience in proposal preparation

Strong client contacts and relationships, especially among local clients in the Greater Los Angeles area
