Senior Progress Engineer - WAS

Key Responsibilities

Progress Measurement & Monitoring

• Develop and implement progress measurement systems for construction and mining activities.

• Collect, validate, and analyze physical progress data from site teams, contractors, and supervisors.

• Ensure progress is measured consistently in line with approved methodologies and WBS.

• Verify quantities, milestones, and earned value data.

Schedule & Performance Control

• Update project schedules with actual progress in coordination with Planning Engineers.

• Perform progress variance analysis (planned vs. actual).

• Support earned value management (EVM) analysis, including SPI and productivity trends.

• Identify delays, slippages, and productivity issues and support mitigation planning.

Reporting

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for management and stakeholders.

• Develop dashboards, progress curves (S-curves), histograms, and KPIs.

• Support progress input for client reports, management reviews, and steering committee meetings.

• Ensure accuracy and traceability of reported data.

Coordination & Site Interface

• Work closely with construction, mining, engineering, QA/QC, and commercial teams.

• Coordinate with contractors to align progress reporting formats and timelines.

• Attend site progress meetings and provide progress insights and recommendations.

Systems & Compliance

• Maintain progress databases and reporting tools.

• Ensure compliance with project controls procedures and contractual requirements.

• Support audits related to progress, quantities, and performance reporting.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Mining, or related discipline).

Experience

• Experienced in project controls or progress engineering.

• Proven experience on large-scale mining and/or construction projects.

• Strong site-based experience is essential.
  

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of construction and mining sequencing and methodologies.

• Expertise in progress measurement techniques and earned value management.

• Proficient in project controls software (e.g., Primavera P6, Excel, Power BI or similar).

• Strong analytical, reporting, and data validation skills.

• Ability to work independently in a site environment under demanding schedules.

• Excellent communication and coordination skills.

Working Conditions

• Full-time, site-based role.

• May require extended working hours and rotation schedules depending on project needs.
