About the Company

Our client is an independent renewable energy platform focused on developing, investing in, and operating large-scale clean energy projects across emerging markets. With a diversified portfolio spanning onshore wind, solar PV, and battery storage, the company combines technical excellence with a mission to deliver sustainable, high-impact infrastructure.

The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Engineer to support project development, technical due diligence, and investment evaluation across wind, solar, and energy storage assets. The successful candidate will provide strategic technical and commercial input to both delivery and investment teams, ensuring projects are optimised for performance, cost, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and commercial analysis of renewable technologies (wind, solar PV, battery storage) to support delivery, O&M, and investment decisions.
  • Coordinate preparation of reports and presentations summarising technology feasibility and benefits for investment committees.
  • Lead the selection and evaluation of OEMs for wind and solar projects, including technical and commercial assessment.
  • Lead and perform technical due diligence for new projects, coordinating engineers, environmental specialists, resource analysts, and consultants.
  • Prepare RfP packages for surveys, engineering works, consultants, construction, and supply contracts — including drafting, evaluation, clarification, and negotiation.
  • Prepare and negotiate Heads of Terms with EPC contractors.
  • Engage with OEMs and contractors to optimise offers, improve returns, and mitigate risks.
  • Support the investment team with technical assessments of potential acquisitions and new development opportunities.
  • Provide key inputs (CAPEX, OPEX, yield, availability, construction period, etc.) for financial model scenarios.
  • Manage engineering consultants and service providers during development stages (designs, surveys, feasibility studies).
  • Conduct site visits for potential investment opportunities and assist with site selection for future projects.
  • Oversee project development activities (designs, EPC selection, O&M contracts) until handover to project teams.
  • Perform wind resource assessments, including data analysis, yield calculations, and layout optimisation using tools such as WAsP, WindPRO, or CFD models.
  • Support site selection through measurement campaigns, GIS analysis, and data validation.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to provide insights on energy yield, uncertainty, and production estimates for financing and development decisions.
  • Manage implementation of turbine manufacturer contracts.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (required).
  • Postgraduate degree in Renewable Energy or related discipline (desirable).
  • Minimum 10 years’ project engineering experience in wind and/or solar projects.
  • Experience with wind farms above 50 MW is essential.
  • Solar PV experience desirable.
  • Background in engineering consultancy or turbine OEM advantageous.
  • Fluent written and spoken English (business level).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, PVSyst, WindPRO, and related software.
  • Strong understanding of EPC/O&M contract frameworks and FIDIC terms.

Why Join?

  • Work on landmark renewable projects across diverse geographies.
  • Contribute technical expertise to projects driving the global energy transition.
  • Join a collaborative, mission-driven environment committed to quality and sustainability.
