Senior Project Manager- Events Industry

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Project Manager to lead and oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of events, exhibitions, conferences, fit-out, and audiovisual projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management capabilities combined with in-depth technical knowledge of event production and AV systems, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end event, exhibition, and AV projects from concept development through execution and project close-out.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, resource allocations, and execution strategies.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and effective stakeholder management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead cross-functional teams including production, design, technical, logistics, procurement, and operations personnel.
  • Review project requirements, technical specifications, drawings, and client briefs to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, contractors, venues, and regulatory authorities to ensure all project requirements are met.
  • Conduct site surveys, technical inspections, risk assessments, and pre-event planning meetings.
  • Oversee event setup, live event execution, troubleshooting, and dismantling activities.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and implement corrective actions when required.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, venue requirements, health and safety standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Manage project budgets, cost control, procurement activities, and profitability targets.
  • Prepare project reports, progress updates, post-event evaluations, and project documentation.
  • Support business development activities through technical consultation, project planning, and client presentations.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for audiovisual, production, staging, and exhibition projects.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings, AutoCAD layouts, stage designs, rigging plans, electrical layouts, and production documentation.
  • Oversee the implementation and operation of audiovisual systems, including:
  • LED Walls and Digital Displays
  • Projection Systems
  • Professional Audio Systems
  • Stage and Architectural Lighting
  • Video Processing and Switching Systems
  • Live Streaming and Broadcast Solutions
  • Control and Automation Systems
  • Ensure proper planning and execution of staging, trussing, rigging, power distribution, networking, and venue infrastructure requirements.
  • Coordinate with technical teams, engineers, programmers, fabricators, and production crews to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges during project planning and live event operations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry best practices, safety regulations, and technical standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Event Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Events, Exhibitions, Audio Visual, Production, or related industries, with at least 5 years in a Project Manager position.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale events, exhibitions, conferences, government projects, corporate events, and AV installations.
  • Strong technical knowledge of audiovisual systems, event production technologies, staging, rigging, lighting, sound, video, and live event operations.
  • Extensive experience in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource management, and cost control.
  • Strong understanding of contracts, procurement, vendor management, and project documentation.
  • Knowledge of UAE regulations, permits, venue requirements, health and safety standards, and contractual obligations relevant to event and exhibition projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, and project management tools.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management certification is an advantage.
  • Valid UAE driving license is preferred.
