Summary:

In this contingent resource assignment, you may: Consult as an expert to develop or influence initiatives and resources for highly complex business and technical needs across Engineering. Consult on the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, and advanced analytical and inductive thinking. Provide expertise to client senior leadership on innovative Engineering business solutions. Strategically engage with client personnel. Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Prompt Engineer to support enterprise AI initiatives by standardizing and optimizing prompt engineering practices across business units.

Core Competencies:

LLM Behavior

• Understanding of tokenization, context windows, temperature, and model behavior.
• Familiarity with prompt injection risks and mitigation.

Prompt Engineering

• Skilled in few-shot, zero-shot, chain-of-thought, and role-based prompting.
• Ability to design clear, adaptable, and effective prompts.

NLP Fundamentals

• Knowledge of tokenization, embeddings, semantic similarity.
• Experience with text generation, summarization, and classification.

Critical Thinking & Creativity

• Decomposing complex tasks and crafting flexible, constraint-aware prompts.

Evaluation & Iteration

• Designing A/B tests and using metrics (BLEU, ROUGE, human eval) to assess prompt quality.

Ethics & Safety

• Awareness of bias, fairness, and responsible AI practices.
• Techniques to prevent harmful or sensitive outputs.

Programming Skills

• Proficiency in Python and API integration.
• Familiarity with JSON for structured data handling.

Qualifications:

• Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
• Strong experience in AI/ML, NLP, or Generative AI.
• Deep understanding of LLMs and prompt-response dynamics.
• Experience with platforms like OpenAI, Anthropic, or Vertex AI.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to document and scale prompt workflows.
• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Linguistics, or related field. (preferred)
• Experience with advanced prompting (e.g., chaining, RAG). (preferred)
• Familiarity with AI governance and risk frameworks. (preferred)
• Background in regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare). (preferred)
