Job Title: Senior Purchaser – Contracting
Department: Procurement / Supply Chain
Reports To: Procurement Manager / Commercial Manager
Job Summary
The Senior Purchaser is responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities for contracting projects, ensuring timely sourcing of materials, subcontractors, and services at competitive prices while maintaining quality, compliance, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle procurement for construction/contracting projects (civil, MEP, ELV, fire fighting, etc.).
- Source, evaluate, negotiate, and finalize suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare and issue RFQs, evaluate quotations, and prepare comparative statements.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts.
- Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and follow up to ensure timely delivery to sites.
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, QS, and Stores.
- Ensure materials meet project specifications, drawings, and approved submittals.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery, quality, or pricing issues.
- Maintain procurement records, contracts, and supplier database.
- Support cost control and value engineering initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements.
- Manage urgent and bulk procurement efficiently under project deadlines.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in procurement within contracting/construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, MEP items, and local suppliers.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally, or similar).
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- UAE experience preferred (knowledge of local market & vendors).
