Why does the job exist?

The Senior Purchasing Coordinator will:
Audit all requisitions to include procurement method, account codes and back up documentation;

Create Purchase orders after audit;

Process change orders to existing purchase orders;

Run purchasing reports in SHARE;

Close out zero balance purchase orders;

Assist divisions with questions regarding purchasing;

Perform as back-up to submitting W-9 to the Department of Finance and Administration (DFA).

How does it get done?

The Senior Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for:
Working within SHARE financial modules requisitions, purchase orders and report modules;

Understanding NM State Procurement Code and DFA Manual of Modeling Accounting Practices (MAPs);

Monthly review and reconciliation of the Purchase Order (PO) reports and close out of Purchase Orders;

Meeting internal and external strict deadlines.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting and Finance and one (1) year of experience in accounting, finance, purchasing, procurement, and/or warehouse clerking. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling five (5) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Must obtain and maintain a Defensive Driving certification.
Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting, with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT), extensive computer and telephone usage. Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
