Senior QA Engineer (Gaming Industry)

About the Role

As a Senior QA Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our software products through rigorous testing and process improvements. You’ll collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to identify issues early, implement robust testing strategies, and mentor other QA team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Test Planning & Strategy
• Design and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for manual and automated testing.
• Define and enforce QA best practices, standards, and processes.
• Testing Execution
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
• Identify, document, and track software defects, working with developers to resolve them.
• Ensure release readiness through thorough test coverage and quality gates.
• Automation
• Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test suites for APIs, UI, and backend systems.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaboration
• Partner with product and development teams to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Participate in code reviews and design discussions to proactively identify potential quality issues.
• Mentorship
• Guide and mentor junior QA engineers in technical and process-related aspects.
• Continuous Improvement
• Recommend and implement improvements to testing tools, frameworks, and processes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of professional QA experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Proficiency in test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JUnit, TestNG).
• Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.

Preferred Skills

• Performance testing experience (e.g., JMeter, Gatling).
• Security testing exposure.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with version control (Git) and bug tracking systems (Jira, Azure Boards).
• Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
