Position Overview:
EDECS is seeking a detail-oriented
Senior Quality Control Engineer
to ensure the effective implementation of the
Project Quality Plan (PQP
) across all project activities. Act as the primary on-site quality representative by monitoring construction activities, verifying compliance with project requirements, and coordinating inspections to ensure work is executed in accordance with approved standards and specifications.
Responsibilities:
1. Inspection Planning and Preparation

Review project specifications, approved drawings, and method statements.

Prepare inspection checklists and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for quality inspections and testing activities.

Ensure inspection requirements are clearly communicated to the site team.
2. Site Inspection and Quality Monitoring

Conduct daily site inspections and walkthroughs in accordance with approved Inspection & Test Plans.

Verify that construction activities comply with project specifications, approved drawings, and quality standards.

Identify non-conforming work and initiate corrective actions where required.
3. Inspection Coordination

Receive Requests for Inspection (RFIs) from the construction team.

Coordinate inspection schedules with consultants and site personnel.

Follow up on inspection results and ensure timely closure of comments.
4. Final Inspection Readiness

Verify that completed works meet contractual and quality requirements before consultant inspections.

Ensure all deficiencies are rectified prior to requesting final inspection approval.
5. Non-Conformance and Re-Inspection Management

Monitor the status of inspections and rejected work.

Track corrective actions and ensure all required improvements are completed before re-submission.

Coordinate re-inspections until final approval is obtained.
6. Document and Drawing Control

Monitor the revision status of construction drawings used on-site.

Ensure only the latest approved drawings are available and used by construction teams and subcontractors.

Prevent the use of superseded or obsolete documents.
7. Material Storage and Preservation
-
Inspect material storage areas to ensure proper handling and preservation practices.

Identify unacceptable storage conditions that may affect product quality.

Report quality concerns to the Project Quality Manager and follow up on corrective actions.
8. Quality Records Management

Maintain all quality records required by Inspection & Test Plans, specifications, and contract documents.

Ensure inspection reports, checklists, and testing records are complete, accurate, and traceable.

Submit original quality records to the Document Controller for proper filing and handover.
9. Quality Awareness and Training

Ensure technical quality training is provided to site personnel and subcontractors.

Promote compliance with project quality procedures and inspection requirements.

Support continuous improvement through knowledge sharing and quality awareness initiatives.
10. Quality Meetings and Reporting
-
Attend quality control meetings and provide updates on inspection activities.
-
Present inspection findings, non-conformance trends, and corrective action status.

Collaborate with project stakeholders to improve quality performance and resolve quality-related issues.
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil Engineering preferred).

Minimum of 6 years of experience in a quality control or similar role.

Previous experience in the construction industry is preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
