The Anniston, Alabama site of BAE Systems is in search of a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer within their Procurement Quality Support Engineering (PQSE) group. This is an advanced career opportunity. In this role as a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (Sr. SQE), you will be responsible for all day-to-day supplier quality interactions on a given program. You will investigate, evaluate, and resolve supplier quality problems by conducting defect investigations, analyzing defect trends, and leading continuous improvement projects. You will lead and conduct containment efforts, maintaining traceability of actions and delegating accordingly, to ensure the swift containment of supplier non-conformances. Additionally, you will frequently interact and report required statuses to internal and external customer. In support of the overall program, you will work on multiple projects to completion. As a Sr. SQE, you'll monitor the enforcement of purchase order (PO) requirements, supplier non-conformance management and supplier performance improvement, including thorough root cause analysis and effective corrective action. You will mentor junior SQE’s to further their development within the team.
Overall duties include:

Evaluating the impact of nonconforming product and assessing suppliers’ corrective actions.

Championing problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances.

Evaluating First Article Inspections per the AS9102 requirements.

Working with suppliers to meet BAE System's requirements.

Evaluating First Article Test plans and reporting for execution and approval.

Driving “Zero Defect” mentality within the supply base and A3 problem solving tool practices.
Note: This role supports 100% on-site.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree in an Engineering or technical related field of study and 4 years related work experience, or the overall equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, and presentations.
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical drawing interpretation and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T).
- Strong working knowledge of Failure Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective / Preventative Actions.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality Systems and AS9102B First Article Requirements or comparable industry standards.
- Practical problem solver.
- Computer skills to include MS Office Suite and related industry software applications.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Experience in Defense Prime Contract environment.

Experience with product line validation, test plans, test equipment and product qualification.

Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma concepts and tools (e.g. Green / Black Belt).

Toyota Production System (TPS), Toyota Way, A3 problem solving tool.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $79370 - $134929
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
