Senior Quality Technician – Quality Control

We are currently looking for a Senior Quality Technician to contribute to Amouage’s quality control lifecycle based in Muscat, Oman. This role brings clarity, coherence and discipline to how the House ensures traceability of its materials, quality standards, and oversees laboratory activities to ensure regulatory requirements are continuously met.


Your Mission

Working closely with the Quality Control Manager, the Senior Quality Technician plays a critical role in safeguarding the exceptional quality, consistency, and regulatory compliance of Amouage fragrances and associated products. This position oversees advanced quality control activities, supports test method validation, and acts as a technical reference within the QC function. The role ensures that all raw materials, and finished goods meet stringent internal specifications, as well as international regulatory and GMP requirements, reflecting the brand’s commitment to luxury craftsmanship.


Your Impact


1. Advanced Quality Control & Laboratory Oversight

  • Perform and supervise physicochemical and sensory testing of raw materials, bulk fragrance, and finished products (e.g., density, refractive index, GC analysis, alcohol strength).
  • Review and verify QC data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with specifications.
  • Lead troubleshooting of atypical results, out-of-specification (OOS), and out-of-trend (OOT) findings.
  • Support development, optimization, and validation of analytical methods and SOPs.
  • Ensure calibration, qualification, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.


2. Batch Release & Documentation Control

  • Review batch records, certificates of analysis (CoA), and QC documentation prior to product release.
  • Ensure full traceability of materials and products in line with GMP and regulatory requirements.
  • Support compilation and maintenance of Product Information Files (PIF), including analytical and stability data.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO 22716 and internal QMS procedures.


3. Deviation Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead investigations of deviations, non-conformities, and customer complaints.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone) and define corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Monitor quality KPIs and identify trends to proactively improve product quality and process robustness.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with operational excellence and waste reduction.


4. Cross-Functional & Supplier Collaboration

  • Act as a key quality interface with product development, Packaging, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Provide technical guidance on quality standards during scale-up, validation batches, and new product launches.
  • Support supplier qualification and performance monitoring through testing and quality feedback.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and ensure readiness of QC documentation.


5. Training & Mentorship

  • Train and mentor junior Quality Technicians on testing methods, SOPs, and GMP practices.
  • Promote a strong quality culture consistent with luxury brand expectations.

Your Expertise

  • Bachelor of Science in a relevant discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Pharmacy, Industrial chemistry etc.)
  • ISO 17025 and/or ISO 9001 certification
  • Proficient skills to run GC Chromatography analysis
  • Previous Quality Control experience in chemicals, cosmetic, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing preferred
  • Sensory skills with ability to evaluate fragrances preferred
