Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced
Senior Quantity Surveyor
to lead our Tender and Commercial Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of pre- and post-contract quantity surveying, cost estimation, tendering, commercial operations, and supplier/subcontractor payment processes. This leadership role demands technical accuracy, commercial insight, and strategic thinking to support the company's profitability and contractual compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Tendering & Estimation:

Lead the preparation of tender submissions including cost estimation, BOQ review, rate build-up, and pricing strategies.

Coordinate with estimator, procurement, and planning teams to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.

Analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications, VE to understand project scope and commercial requirements.

Attend tender clarification meetings and manage RFI processes.
Commercial Management:

Oversee post-award commercial activities including contract review, variations, and interim valuations.

Manage commercial negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Monitor project budgets, cash flow, and cost control measures to ensure financial targets are achieved.

Ensure contractual and commercial compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Subcontractor & Supplier Payments:

Review and verify subcontractor and supplier payment applications in coordination with project teams.

Ensure timely and accurate certification of payments as per contract terms.

Manage payment cycles, monitor retention and advance recovery, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

Resolve disputes or discrepancies related to subcontractor and supplier accounts.

Maintain accurate records of payments, agreements, and correspondence for audit and reporting purposes.
Team Leadership:

Manage and mentor junior quantity surveyors and estimators in the department.

Allocate tasks, review deliverables, and ensure deadlines and quality standards are achieved.

Provide ongoing training and performance guidance to enhance department capabilities.
Reporting & Coordination:

Prepare commercial reports, cost analysis, risk assessments, and value engineering recommendations.

Support the Head of Commercial in strategic decision-making through financial and commercial insights.

Coordinate with clients, consultants, procurement, accounts, and project teams to maintain clear and professional communication.
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

Minimum 12 to 15 years of total experience and a minimum of 10 years of UAE experience with main contractor is preferred

Strong background in tendering, estimation, cost management, and subcontractor/supplier payments.

Proficiency in cost estimation and MS Office.

Strong knowledge of FIDIC and local contract regulations.

Leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
