Job Summary

The Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all cost and contractual aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. This includes cost planning, estimation, tendering, contract administration, variation management, and final account settlement. The SQS ensures that projects are delivered within budget, compliant with contractual obligations, and aligned with company and client objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQ), and tender documentation.
  • Manage and monitor project budgets, costs, and cash flow forecasts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Evaluate contractor and subcontractor quotations, negotiate terms, and prepare award recommendations.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, verify quantities, and monitor project costs.
  • Prepare monthly valuations, interim payment applications, and cost reports.
  • Manage change control procedures and maintain updated cost records.
  • Support project management teams in procurement planning and cost risk analysis.
  • Prepare final accounts and ensure timely project closeout and handover.
  • Mentor and supervise junior quantity surveyors and provide professional guidance.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders to resolve contractual or cost issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in quantity surveying, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role
