Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job Description:

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for overseeing all contractual and financial aspects of the project. This includes tasks such as cost estimation, contract administration, and ensuring adherence to budget constraints. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building projects, a thorough understanding of FIDIC conditions of contract, and a solid background in quantity surveying within the UAE.

Functions

  • Perform accurate quantity take-offs to determine project materials and labour requirements.
  • Use quantity take-offs to assist in cost estimation and budgeting processes
  • Apply standard methods of measurement for quantity surveying tasks.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for projects.
  • Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and other documentation.
  • Monitor and control project expenditure to ensure costs are kept within the agreed budget.
  • Analyse and evaluate tenders from contractors and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, ensuring adherence to FIDIC conditions.
  • Apply FIDIC conditions of contract as applicable in the UAE.
  • Administer contracts and manage contract changes, variations, and claims.
  • Conduct regular financial reviews of projects, preparing interim valuations and final accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all project costs, contracts, and correspondence.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Professional qualifications such as MRICS or equivalent are advantageous

Experience

At least 5 to 7 years of quantity surveying experience, focusing on building projects.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED12,000.00 per month
