Position: Quantity Surveyor/Estimator

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs and quantities involved in various construction projects, providing essential support throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including material quantities, labor costs, and equipment requirements.
• Analyze project specifications, drawings, and related documents to identify key cost factors and potential risks.
• Collaborate with project managers, designers, and contractors to gather necessary information for estimates.
• Utilize industry-specific software for takeoffs and to generate comprehensive estimates, including technical descriptions.
• Monitor and track project costs throughout the construction phase, reporting any deviations from the estimated budget and suggesting cost control measures.
• Work with procurement teams to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
• Review and negotiate contract terms with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure favorable agreements.
• Provide support in dispute resolution and claims management processes.
• Maintain accurate cost databases and historical data for future reference and continuous improvement.
• Develop strategies for cost control and change management.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in estimation software and cost management tools.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret project specifications and drawings accurately.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of procurement processes and contract management principles.
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
