The Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all aspects of cost planning, estimating, and financial control across construction projects. The role includes preparing accurate cost estimates, monitoring project budgets, controlling expenditures, managing subcontractor payments, and overseeing procurement and contractual financial processes to ensure effective cost performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Core ResponsibilitiesPrepare monthly cost reports upon issuance of the month-end cost ledger by the finance team.
Track and manage project costs across all departments.
Support Project Managers in monitoring expenditure and maintaining budget control.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data to reflect true project performance.
Prepare interim payment applications and invoices in accordance with approved work inspections.
Ensure payments align with contractual milestones defined in subcontract agreements.
Prepare payment certificates for subcontracted works.
Coordinate with the Project In-Charge to verify completed works.
Ensure compliance with subcontract agreements and company procedures.
Prepare and manage documentation for all project variations.
Evaluate and track cost implications of variations.
Maintain proper records for contractual and commercial justification.
Prepare final accounts upon project completion, including Defects Liability Period (DLP) obligations.
Resolve outstanding claims, variations, and contractual issues.
Issue final account documentation once all contractual obligations are completed.
Assist Contract Managers in preparing EOT claims.
Compile supporting documentation, records, and cost impacts related to delays.
