Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor (QS) with a strong background in interior fit-out and joinery projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing all cost-related aspects of interior fit-out and joinery works from inception to completion. This role requires a deep understanding of the technical and commercial aspects of interior construction, as well as the ability to manage budgets, timelines, and client relationships effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Management & Estimation:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for interior fit-out and joinery projects, ensuring alignment with the project scope and client requirements.
- Develop detailed cost plans and budgets, monitoring and controlling costs throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct cost analysis and provide recommendations to ensure cost-effective solutions while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Tendering & Procurement:
- Lead the tendering process for interior fit-out and joinery projects, including preparation of tender documents and review of contractor bids.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors, ensuring compliance with project specifications and terms.
- Contract Administration:
- Administer contracts, ensuring adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and budgets.
- Manage variations, claims, and disputes, ensuring all changes are accurately priced and documented.
- Prepare progress reports and cost reports, presenting updates to clients and senior management.
- Site Coordination & Cost Control:
- Regularly visit project sites to monitor progress, assess work quality, and ensure cost control measures are in place.
- Identify potential risks and proactively mitigate cost overruns and schedule delays.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and design teams to resolve issues and ensure smooth project execution.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction through transparent communication and the effective management of costs.
- Advise clients on cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop junior quantity surveyors and project assistants, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
- Ensure adherence to company processes, standards, and best practices within the quantity surveying team.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Chartered status (MRICS) or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a focus on interior fit-out and joinery projects.
- Proven track record in managing budgets, costs, and contracts for complex interior fit-out works.
- Experience working with high-end residential, commercial, or hospitality projects is a plus.
