Senior Safety Engineer

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Scope: We are seeking an experienced Senior Safety Engineer to lead and manage health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs within our Oil & Gas operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and ensuring compliance with safety policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices to maintain a safe and secure work environment.

Responsibilities:
Safety Policy & Compliance:

  • Develop, implement, and update HSE policies and procedures in line with local and international safety regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, API, ISO, NFPA, and other industry safety standards.
  • Act as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and manage external safety audits.

Risk Management & Incident Prevention:

  • Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and site inspections to identify potential hazards.
  • Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor safety performance metrics and recommend improvements.

Training & Awareness:

  • Develop and conduct safety training programs for employees and contractors.
  • Organize emergency response drills and ensure preparedness for crisis situations.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.

Environmental Protection & Compliance:

  • Oversee environmental protection measures, including waste management and spill response.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental safety regulations and sustainability initiatives.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work closely with engineering, operations, and site teams to integrate safety protocols into daily operations.
  • Provide guidance to leadership on safety strategies, risk mitigation, and best practices.

Key Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in safety management within the Oil & Gas industry.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, API, ISO, NFPA, and HSE best practices.
  • Experience in risk assessments, incident investigation, and safety audits.
  • Proficiency in safety management systems and reporting tools.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in high-risk environments and make quick, effective decisions.
