We are looking for a highly motivated and technically sound Senior Sales Engineer – Solar Solutions to drive business growth in the renewable energy sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying new sales opportunities, building strong client relationships, preparing technical and commercial proposals, and closing solar PV projects for commercial, industrial, and residential clients.
This role requires a strong balance of technical understanding, consultative selling, and market development skills.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development
- Identify and develop new business opportunities for solar PV projects.
- Generate leads through market research, networking, referrals, consultants, and direct client engagement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, EPC partners, developers, and industrial customers.
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to proposal, negotiation, and deal closure.
- Achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
Technical Sales Support
- Understand client energy needs and propose suitable solar solutions.
- Conduct site visits, collect project data, and assess feasibility for solar installations.
- Coordinate with technical and engineering teams to prepare system designs and solutions.
- Present product and system benefits clearly to clients in technical and commercial terms.
- Support clients with system sizing, return on investment, payback analysis, and energy savings projections.
Proposal & Tender Management
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals, quotations, and tenders.
- Review client requirements, drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Work with estimation, design, procurement, and operations teams to ensure accurate offers.
- Follow up on proposals, clarify queries, and support negotiations until project award.
Client Relationship Management
- Develop long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Act as the main contact point during the pre-sales and pre-award stages.
- Understand customer pain points and provide practical and cost-effective solar solutions.
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and repeat business.
Market & Competitor Analysis
- Monitor solar market trends, competitor activity, and pricing.
- Identify new sectors and customer segments for solar growth.
- Share market intelligence and sales forecasts with management.
Reporting
- Maintain sales pipeline records, customer follow-ups, and opportunity tracking.
- Prepare regular reports on sales activity, forecasts, and pipeline status.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely response to customer requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in solar sales, renewable energy sales, or technical business development.
- Strong understanding of solar PV systems, net metering, net billing, hybrid systems, and energy storage solutions.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and closing B2B or project-based sales.
- Experience in preparing proposals, pricing, and client presentations.
