We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Sales Operations Business Analyst to join our Sales Operations team and contribute to our success by providing critical insights and analysis that support our sales and marketing strategies.
Position Overview: The Senior Business Analyst will play a key role in supporting our sales, marketing, and business planning efforts by leveraging data and analytics to drive strategic decision-making. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, Operations, Customer Service, IT, and Finance. This role will focus on designing and implementing a sales data management strategy, identifying opportunities to improve processes through analytics, and championing a market-driven outlook to maximize performance and revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Market Data Gathering, Analytics & Modeling
- Collect, clean, and organize data from various sources to ensure comprehensive and accurate analysis.
- Develop advanced analytical models to support sales forecasts, market segmentation, accurate lead generation, and customer profiling.
- Fluent in data fundamentals and data manipulation using procedural languages, statistics, experimentation, and modeling.
Sales Data Management Strategy
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across sales reports and analytics, facilitating accurate and timely decision-making.
- Partner with Sales and Reporting teams to design and implement a sales data management strategy to create seamless reporting for sales insights and decision-making.
Sales Operational Analysis & Reporting
- Produce accurate, clear, and concise operational analysis to communicate key trends, variances, risks, and opportunities.
- Independent ability to extract and consolidate sales, retention/churn, and marketing data from multiple sources and prepare insightful reporting and analytics.
- Evolve and maintain dashboards, reports, and performance metrics to track and report on sales and marketing effectiveness.
- Evolve and maintain monthly sales performance metrics that track individual, team and company sales results to budget.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to senior management and other stakeholders, effectively communicating findings and recommendations.
Performance Monitoring & Sales Improvement
- Monitor various sales and marketing initiatives and performance on a regular basis to maximize performance and revenue.
- Identify and execute actionable sales improvement initiatives based on performance data and market insights.
- Collect, trend, and analyze data to assist in sales compensation and commissions strategy
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with all departments analyze product performance, customer feedback, and market trends to inform product development and positioning.
- Collaborate with Finance to ensure alignment between sales forecasts, budget planning, and financial performance.
- Partner with Customer Service to assess customer satisfaction, identify recurring issues, and develop strategies to improve the customer experience.
Stakeholder Communication
- Act as a liaison between sales, marketing, and other departments to ensure alignment and support for key initiatives.
- Communicate complex information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to distill and present actionable information from complex research or analysis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Data Science, Statistics or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CFA, CBAP) is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a focus on sales and marketing analytics.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI).
- Proven experience in data gathering, advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and data warehouse design.
- Demonstrated ability to produce clear and actionable operational analysis and reports.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing strategic planning models, especially related to network expansion and market segmentation.
- Experience in identifying opportunities to improve processes and drive efficiency through analytics.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Proven experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
- Extensive Excel and PowerPoint knowledge or a strong desire to achieve expert-level skills.
- Independent ability to extract and consolidate sales and marketing data from multiple sources and prepare insightful reporting and analytics.
- Ability to distill and present actionable information from complex research or analysis.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
