Senior Search Engineer

We are looking for a talented Senior Search Engineer to join our driven team, working on innovative search technologies that support intelligent and scalable information retrieval systems. You'll contribute significantly to developing and enhancing components across our search stack, including query translation, search result ranking, and pattern matching APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable search components using Scala 2 and the Play Framework
• Implement and enhance Pattern Matching APIs using Python
• Build and optimize query translation modules (Query Cooker) using Java
• Support and extend Elasticsearch plugins and optimize them for reliability and performance
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to manage infrastructure on AWS (including EC2) and ensure highly available and scalable search services
• Troubleshoot and enhance search performance across sophisticated distributed systems

Requirements

• 3+ years of programming experience with Scala 2, Java, and Python
• Solid understanding and hands-on experience with the Play Framework
• Expertise in ElasticSearch plugin development and maintenance
• Understanding of search-related algorithms, indexing, and query processing
• Competency in DevOps practices and working with AWS services, particularly EC2
• Capability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment
• English language proficiency at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher

Nice to have

• Understanding of natural language processing (NLP) or semantic search
• Expertise in information retrieval or search relevance tuning
• Experience with containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
