Senior Shopify Development Engineer

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Software Engineer specializing in Shopify, located in Lahore. The Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Shopify-based applications and integrations. Daily tasks include coding, debugging, and ensuring the performance and scalability of web solutions. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features is also part of the role.

Education & Experience

• Degree(s)/Major(s): Bachelor or equivalent degree from a reputed educational Institute preferably in computer science, web development, or a related field (preferred).
• Certification(s): Not mandatory but certification in a relevant field will be considered a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience developing and maintaining Shopify eCommerce sites and applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Shopify eCommerce sites and applications, including custom themes and Apps.
• Collaborate with designers, project managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and develop solutions that meet business needs
• Leading Shopify integrations with Third Party Services (Logistics, Shipping, Payment Gateways, …).
• Lead and execute Shopify development projects from start to finish
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior developers
• Optimize site performance and ensure the best possible user experience
• Troubleshoot and debug issues as needed
• Keep up-to-date with Shopify best practices, industry trends, and emerging technologies
• Ensure compliance with coding standards and industry best practices
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
• Continuously improve development processes and workflows

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery
• The deep technical know-how of Shopify and how to setup stores from scratch
• Sound knowledge of Shopify REST APIs and Shopify Templates, and Shopify coding technology
• Experience with Shopify APIs, webhooks, and app development
• Experience with Shopify Apps and their integration with the Shopify ecosystem
• Technical knowledge of Shopify Flow
• Deep understanding of Shopify for B2C, and B2B (Wholesalers)
• Deep understanding of how to use Shopify as a headless eCommerce (for some particular stores)
• Proficient in version control systems such as Git
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Experience with other eCommerce platforms such as Magento, WooCommerce, or BigCommerce is a plus.
