Under the direction of the Homelessness & Coordinated Care (HCC) Unit Supervisor, the Senior Social Service Worker provides advanced social casework services and serves as a lead resource in coordinating outreach, engagement, and housing-focused services for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. This position plays a critical role in supporting multidisciplinary responses at identified encampments throughout Marin County, including Binford Road and Hamilton Marsh, by helping clients overcome barriers to housing stability and connecting them with appropriate services and supports.

Our highly qualified candidate has significant experience providing social services to individuals experiencing homelessness or other complex social and health-related challenges. They have demonstrated expertise in trauma-informed care, Housing First approaches, crisis intervention, and developing effective service plans for individuals with complex needs.
The ideal candidate is a skilled social worker who can build trust with clients, navigate challenging situations, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and community partners. They bring strong judgment, compassion, and problem-solving skills to address barriers to housing stability and connect individuals to meaningful resources and supports.
The highly qualified candidate has experience serving as a lead resource or mentor to colleagues, providing consultation and guidance on complex cases, and supporting continuous improvement efforts. They are organized, adaptable, and able to manage competing priorities while working effectively in a dynamic environment.
The ideal candidate is also an excellent communicator who can clearly convey complex information to diverse audiences, build collaborative partnerships, and represent HHS with professionalism and respect.

Disaster Service Workers: All County of Marin employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law (California Government Code Section 3100-3109). Employment with the County requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
