Purpose of Job:

The ELK Engineer will support the onboarding of applications to the ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash,

Kibana) platform across multiple environments (AWS, Azure, and Rancher On-Prem).

This role focuses on onboarding applications logs into ELK including pre-requisite, agent installation,

log ingestion validation, Logstash filters, dashboard, alerts, troubleshooting, and working with

application teams to ensure a smooth ELK onboarding.

Academics:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Job knowledge, skills & experience:

• Overall 2 to 5 years of experience working within a large enterprise consisting of large and

diverse teams.

• The candidate will work closely with senior ELK engineers, DevOps, infrastructure, cloud,

and security teams.

• Assist in onboarding applications to the ELK platform in UAT & PROD environments.

• Coordinate with application owners for collecting log sources, formats, endpoints, and

ingestion requirements.

• Support log agent installation (Filebeat, Elastic agents).

• Validate log ingestion, pipelines, mappings, and dashboards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Configure Beats and elastic agents for log forwarding.

• Validate connectivity (firewalls, DNS, ports, certificates).

• Check agents logs for errors.

• Identify ingestion failures, mapping issues, or pipeline errors.

• Configure logstash filters

• Creating of Kibana dashboards and alerts.

• Update SOPs, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.

• Record common onboarding issues and resolutions.

Technical Skills:

• Hands-on exp on ELK stack components (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).

• Hands on exp on installing beat and elastic agents

• Good understanding of Linux commands.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) – Good to have

• Basic networking (ports, protocols, connectivity testing).
