Senior Specialist - Ethics, Compliance, and Privacy

The Senior Specialist – Ethics, Compliance, and Privacy (SSECP) serves as a subject matter expert supporting key areas of the organization’s Ethics, Compliance, and Privacy programs. This role provides informed guidance and strategic input on enterprise and market initiatives at the direction of Ethics and Compliance leadership to help ensure adherence to applicable federal and state regulations, as well as Help at Home’s policies, ethical standards, and procedures.


The SSECP independently interprets and applies regulatory requirements, internal policies, and professional guidance to support compliance across the organization. As a trusted resource in designated program areas, this role contributes to the development, oversight, and management of program activities, including documentation and recordkeeping.

Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, the SSECP engages primarily with internal stakeholders—and occasionally external partners—to support compliance objectives and organizational priorities. This position builds alignment among stakeholders, leads departmental initiatives using strong project management and organizational skills, and helps guide project teams to successful outcomes through both direct and indirect leadership. The SSECP also develops recommendations and practical solutions that strengthen compliance programs and enhance overall organizational performance.


  • This is a REMOTE position with minimal travel expectations to the Chicago, IL headquarters once a quarter for on-site collaboration and department meetings.

Responsibilities:

What You’ll Do

  • Carry out detailed information gathering, process mapping, analysis and other activities with the objective to identify and assess compliance risks. For this purpose, extensive interaction with other departments/markets and functions is expected.
  • Identify and track risks and negative trends of non-compliance, and potential fraud, waste, and abuse activities; propose necessary recommendations or remedial actions.
  • Coordinate and monitor activities related to the due diligence review and integration of new projects/markets, identifying potential delays and/or roadblocks to successful implementation of activities and communicate status to Compliance leadership.
  • Implement the completion of assigned compliance auditing and monitoring activities, including preparation of audit/monitoring materials, appropriate sampling, and summary reports.
  • Perform required regulatory research review and analysis to include compliance with laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Ensure timely communication and responsiveness to issues, tracking resolution.
  • Day to day completion of activities assigned including compliance related projects driven by compliance workplan.

What You Bring

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required - Healthcare Administration or related field or equivalent certification.
  • Compliance Certification (CHC, CCEP, CHPO) is required.
  • Five (5) years of experience developing and implementing corporate compliance programs, compliance risk assessment completion, compliance audit/monitoring activities and due diligence reviews.
  • Experience in leading, planning, coordinating, directing, and overseeing projects.
  • Experience in Home Health and Home Health Care preferred.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to listen effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to be an effective connector between the workforce and management.
  • Ability to maintain knowledge of core compliance regulations/measures established by CMS, OIG/DHHS, other federal, state and national rules, regulations and laws.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess situations and make accurate observations in the workplace.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, Smartsheet, Visio, MS PowerPoint and similar tools.
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple projects and compliance priorities.
  • Highly organized and methodical.
  • Works well independently as well as contribute to team efforts.


Security Responsibilities

All employees must follow Help at Home cybersecurity and privacy policies, protect sensitive data, complete required training, and report suspected incidents. They must also follow acceptable use and access requirements and use only authorized systems.


Salary Range:
$90,000 - $100,000

Pay Range: USD $96,000.00 - USD $100,000.00 /Yr.
