About the Role

The Senior Specialist - Finance (Accounts Payable) is a subject matter expert responsible for managing complex accounts payable activities, financial reconciliations, and compliance requirements while ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of financial transactions. This senior individual contributor role provides technical leadership in accounts payable processes, treasury coordination, financial risk mitigation, and system optimization initiatives. The position supports the Finance Manager to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with organizational financial strategies. Additionally, the role acts as a technical advisor and mentor to junior finance team members, ensuring adherence to financial policies, Delegation of Authority, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.

Your Responsibilities

• Manage complex and high-value accounts payable transactions, ensuring accurate invoice verification, approvals, and timely payment processing in compliance with company policies.
• Perform detailed supplier account reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Support cash flow forecasting and working capital optimization through coordination with treasury and finance teams.
• Ensure compliance with Delegation of Authority, financial regulations, tax requirements, and internal policies.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and assist in internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of audit observations.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and support ERP system optimization and automation initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to junior finance team members.
• Support financial projects, system enhancements, and cross-functional initiatives requiring financial expertise.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking a finance professional with at least 7 years of experience in accounts payable, finance operations, or financial management roles. A bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, Commerce, or a related field is required, along with a mandatory professional certification such as CMA, CA, ACCA, or CPA. A master's degree or additional certifications in treasury, financial risk management, or ERP systems are advantageous.

The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in accounts payable processes, financial controls, and compliance, with proven experience handling complex financial transactions and reconciliations. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and financial automation tools is preferred. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to coach and mentor junior team members. Experience in a multinational or regulated industry and involvement in team leadership or project management is a plus.
