Senior Accountant

We are a Catering Company with operations mainly in Abu Dhabi and we are looking to hire a Senior Accountant to meet the below job requirements:-

Job Summary

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end accounting operations and leading the complete financial closing and finalization of accounts for multiple entities within the group. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with UAE regulations, VAT laws, and company policies, while supporting management with financial analysis and decision-making.

Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Bookkeeping

• Manage full-cycle accounting for multiple group entities.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting entries including AP, AR, GL, payroll, and bank transactions.
• Ensure proper documentation and accounting controls are maintained.
• Supervise junior accountants and review their work.

Finalization of Accounts

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
• Prepare trial balance, adjusting entries, accruals, and provisions.
• Reconcile GL accounts, intercompany balances, and sub-ledgers.
• Prepare complete financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
• Conduct year-end closing and audit schedules.

Financial Reporting

• Prepare management reports, variance analysis, and MIS reports.
• Consolidate financials for group companies.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Analyze costs, revenue, and profitability across divisions.

Compliance & Taxation

• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations (returns, reconciliations, documentation).
• Coordinate with external auditors and prepare audit requirements.
• Ensure adherence to IFRS and company accounting policies.
• Assist with regulatory filings and statutory requirements.

Cash Flow & Controls

• Monitor cash flow and working capital.
• Manage bank reconciliations and treasury functions.
• Strengthen internal controls and recommend process improvements.

ERP & Systems

• Maintain accounting software/ERP accuracy.
• Support system enhancements and automation initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Commerce.
• 3-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in group or multi-entity environments.
• Strong experience in finalization of accounts and audit handling.
• Good knowledge of UAE VAT and financial regulations.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Tally/Zoho/others).
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and leadership skills.
