Role description
Key responsibilities:
Application development: Design code and test new applications for mainframe systems.
Maintenance and upgrades: Update maintain and modify existing applications to ensure they continue to meet business requirements.
Troubleshooting and debugging: Analyze and fix bugs and issues within mainframe software to ensure optimal performance.
Collaboration: Work with other developers IT teams and business analysts to implement and support projects.
Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation and user manuals.
System analysis: Evaluate and recommend changes to the mainframe system sometimes involving cost-effective project proposals.
Key skills and languages
Programming languages: COBOL & JCL
Databases: DB2 & VSAM
Technical skills: Understanding of batch processing online transaction processing OLTP and capacity management is crucial.
Soft skills: Strong communication attention to detail data analysis and problem-solving skills are essential.

Benefits
Compensation range: $99,815.00 to $148,400.00 per year
