We are looking for a driven and highly skilled Senior Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the company's financial processes. This is a full-time position located at our corporate headquarters in Jacksonville, FL., and reports to the Accounting Manager.
Responsibilities and Duties:

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank reconciliations, intercompany

Reconciliations, and accounts receivable/payable reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.

Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.

Oversee and participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards.

Assist with internal and external audits, prepare audit schedules, and respond to audit inquiries.

Prepare or assist with the preparation of tax returns, including income tax, sales

Tax, and payroll taxes, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Lead and mentor junior accountants or accounting clerks, providing training and reviewing their work for accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.

Identify areas for process improvements in accounting workflows and implement more efficient practices.

Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.

CPA certification preferred, not required.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
