This role supports multiple areas within the accounting group and plays a key role in driving process improvements to ensure efficient, accurate, and scalable accounting operations. The position encompasses both domestic and international accounting and compliance requirements and works closely with the Accounting Manager and Controller.
In addition to core accounting responsibilities, this role has enhanced ownership of audit preparation and execution, including the research, preparation, and coordination of materials for domestic and international audits. The role requires strong accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while partnering across functions.
Position Responsibilities:
Core Accounting & Close Responsibilities

Own the preparation and review of monthly bank reconciliations and assigned general ledger account reconciliations, identifying and resolving reconciling items in a timely manner

Assist with and independently prepare portions of the monthly close process, including balance sheet and income statement preparation and analysis for international entities

Perform analytical reviews of financial results, including variance and trend analysis, and communicate findings to management

Ensure accurate recording of transactions in accordance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies
Domestic & International Compliance

Review and prepare multiple state sales tax returns for domestic and international entities, ensuring timely and accurate filings

Support domestic and international payroll activities in coordination with the Payroll Specialist, including compliance with applicable regulations

Assist with ongoing compliance requirements related to international operations
Audit & Internal Controls (Enhanced Focus)

Serve as a key contributor to domestic and international audit activities, including preparation, organization, and review of audit schedules and supporting documentation

Take ownership of specific audit matters and escalate complex matter where applicable.

Support continuous improvement of audit readiness through improved documentation, reconciliation quality, and process standardization
Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversight

May perform and/or review accounts payable activities such as reviewing expense management, and performing credit card reconciliations

May perform and/or oversee accounts receivable activities, including payment processing (credit card, electronic, etc.), invoice preparation for all RMG ancillary divisions, bank deposits and transfers

Research and resolve AP and AR discrepancies and serve as a point of escalation for complex issues
Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Support

Identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes, controls, and documentation

Participate in system enhancements, automation efforts, and accounting process improvements

Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Payroll, Tax, and Operations to support accurate reporting and compliance

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager, Controller, CFO, and/or Senior Director of Financial Reporting, Tax, and Compliance

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting highly preferred

Progressive accounting experience with increasing responsibility preferred

Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial close processes

Experience supporting internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responses to auditor inquiries

Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Strong attention to detail with the ability to balance accuracy and efficiency

Proficiency in MS Excel and Word; experience with QuickBooks and NetSuite preferred

Travel Requirement:
Up to 5% travel may be required. If additional, travel is required beyond the specified amount, based on the operational demand, you will be notified accordingly so arrangements can be made.
