Job Title: Sr.Staff Nurse

Qualifications: DGNM / PBSc(Nursing) / BSc(Nursing)

Experience: Minimum 5 Years

Department: ICU / CCU / CTVS / OT / TRANSPLANT / NICU

Reporting to: NS / DNS / Medical Admin

Key responsibilities

Direct patient care:

• Provide advanced, evidence-based nursing care.
• Assess patient needs and develop, implement, and evaluate care plans.
• Monitor patient condition and medication, intervening as necessary.
• Educate patients and their families about the care plan.

Staff supervision and mentorship:

• Supervise and guide junior nurses, nursing students, and other staff.
• Provide training and assess the competencies of junior staff.
• Lead and mentor the nursing team during shifts.

Administrative and coordination:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of a ward or unit.
• Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Manage patient documentation and ensure confidentiality.
• Deputize for the sister or charge nurse when they are absent.

Quality and safety:

• Ensure the team follows all hospital policies, procedures, and standards.
• Promote a safe clinical environment by participating in risk management.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits.

Collaboration:

• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors and allied health staff, to deliver comprehensive care.
• Act as a patient advocate and communicate effectively with patients, families, and the inter-professional team.
