Job Summary
The Staff Nurse provides high-quality nursing care to patients, supports doctors during clinical procedures, and ensures safe and smooth functioning of the ward/ICU/department as per hospital standards.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care, including monitoring vitals, administering medications, maintaining IV lines, and assisting with daily activities.
- Prepare patients for procedures and assist doctors during treatments, dressings, and emergencies.
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing notes, medication records, and reports.
- Follow all SOPs related to infection control, patient safety, and nursing protocols.
- Perform sample collection when required and ensure proper handover during shift changes.
- Educate patients and attendants about treatment plans, discharge instructions, and home care.
- Handle emergency situations promptly and escalate cases to seniors/physicians when needed.
- Ensure cleanliness, sterility, and proper functioning of equipment in the assigned area.
- Coordinate with the multidisciplinary team for smooth patient care delivery.
- Maintain patient rights, privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
Qualifications Required
- GNM / B.Sc. Nursing / M.Sc. Nursing.
- Registration with the State Nursing Council is mandatory.
- 0–5 years of clinical experience (freshers can also be considered depending on department).
Skills Needed
- Strong clinical and patient-care skills.
- Good communication and empathy towards patients.
- Knowledge of basic life support (BLS); ACLS preferred for critical care areas.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts and handle high-pressure situations.
- Attention to detail, responsibility, and teamwork.
