The Senior Steward is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of the stewarding team to ensure the kitchen and service areas are clean, organized, and well-maintained. The role involves maintaining hygiene standards, managing inventory of cleaning supplies, and supporting smooth kitchen and restaurant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily stewarding operations and assign duties to stewards.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen utensils, equipment, and work areas as per hygiene standards.
- Oversee proper garbage disposal and waste management.
- Monitor the handling, storage, and distribution of kitchen equipment and supplies.
- Train and guide new stewards on cleaning procedures, safety practices, and hygiene standards.
- Coordinate with the Chef and F&B team to ensure timely support during peak operations.
- Report any maintenance issues or equipment damages promptly.
- Support in setting up and cleaning up during banquets, functions, or special events.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in kitchen stewarding, preferably in a hotel or restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment handling, and hygiene standards.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Basic communication and coordination abilities.
- Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays.
