Senior Storage Administrator (Dell & Solaris)

We are seeking a highly skilled Storage Administrator to manage and support enterprise-class Dell storage systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in administering Dell PowerStore, PowerMax, PowerScale, and Unity platforms, along with solid experience in Solaris (SPARC Servers) environments. This role requires a proactive professional who can handle day-to-day administration, troubleshooting, and optimization of storage infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and maintain Dell storage systems (PowerStore, PowerMax, PowerScale, Unity).
• Perform routine storage management tasks including provisioning, monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability of storage infrastructure.
• Collaborate with system administrators and application teams to support business requirements.
• Manage Solaris SPARC servers, including OS-level administration and integration with storage systems.
• Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely resolutions.
• Document processes, configurations, and procedures for operational efficiency.
• Stay updated with emerging storage technologies and recommend improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
• 5–10 years of experience in storage administration.
• Strong hands-on experience with Dell storage platforms (PowerStore, PowerMax, PowerScale, Unity).
• Solid knowledge of Solaris OS administration, particularly on SPARC servers.
• Proficiency in storage provisioning, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with SAN/NAS environments and related protocols (FC, iSCSI, NFS, SMB).
• Experience with backup/recovery tools and disaster recovery planning.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of automation tools and scripting for storage management.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Exposure to cloud-based storage solutions.
