Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer – Site Support to join our team in Dubai.

The role focuses on providing technical support during construction, reviewing contractor submissions, resolving site-related structural challenges, and ensuring compliance with project requirements, international standards, and local authority regulations. The successful candidate will also support the structural design team in the delivery of reinforced concrete and structural steel projects.

Responsibilities

• Review contractor submissions including material submittals, method statements, structural calculations, shop drawings, temporary works, post-tension systems, strengthening works, and RFIs.
• Assess structural steel member design, steel connections, and construction methodologies for compliance with project requirements.
• Verify compliance with approved design documents, project specifications, international codes, and industry best practices.
• Provide technical comments and recommendations on contractor submissions in a timely manner.
• Support project teams in resolving site-related structural issues and technical challenges.
• Participate in technical meetings with contractors, consultants, clients, and authorities.
• Support the design team in reinforced concrete and structural steel design activities.
• Perform structural analysis, design checks, and engineering assessments for ongoing projects.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and engineering recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable international standards including ACI, AISC, ASCE, and IBC.
• Coordinate with Dubai Municipality and other UAE regulatory authorities as required.
• Contribute to technical excellence through the development of internal procedures, design guides, and best practices.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in structural engineering within consultancy and/or contractor environments.
• Strong experience in reinforced concrete and structural steel design.
• Proven experience reviewing contractor calculations, technical submissions, and construction methodologies.
• Thorough understanding of international structural design codes and standards.
• Good knowledge of Dubai Municipality requirements and UAE construction practices.
• Familiarity with temporary works design and construction sequencing.
• Strong report writing, technical review, and communication skills.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software including ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, Tekla, and RAM Structural System.
• Working knowledge of BIM platforms and multidisciplinary coordination processes.
• Experience reviewing structural models and coordinating with design teams.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience on high-rise, commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, and industrial developments.
• Experience working within the UAE and GCC region.
• Exposure to both design consultancy and construction environments.
• Strong technical judgement and ability to challenge engineering proposals effectively.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
