The Senior Structural Engineer is responsible for leading, designing, and reviewing structural engineering works for various building and infrastructure projects. The role involves ensuring all designs meet project requirements, international standards, and client expectations while coordinating closely with multidisciplinary teams. The Senior Structural Engineer provides technical expertise, leads junior engineers, and supports project delivery from concept to construction.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Technical Work

  • Prepare, review, and approve structural design calculations, drawings, and reports.
  • Develop safe, economical, and efficient structural systems for buildings, industrial facilities, and infrastructure projects.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (ACI, BS, Eurocode, etc.).
  • Conduct structural analysis using industry software such as ETABS, SAFE, STAAD, SAP2000, and others.
  • Review shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and other disciplines to ensure fully integrated designs.
  • Attend project meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Provide technical support during construction, including responding to RFIs and site queries.

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Guide and supervise junior structural engineers and draftsmen.
  • Review team work, ensure accuracy, and provide technical training as necessary.
  • Participate in internal quality reviews and design audits.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare design basis reports, structural assessment reports, and calculation packages.
  • Ensure accurate project documentation and timely submission of deliverables.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 10–12 years of experience in structural design for buildings or infrastructure.
  • UPDA Grade A
  • Proficiency in engineering software (ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, STAAD, PROKON, etc.).
  • Experience with Gulf region standards and practices
  • Excellent understanding of construction processes and site coordination.
